While the phrase “The Jersey Shore” evokes images of Pauly D and Snookie tearing up a board walk, it is in fact 141 miles of serene beaches that families have been flocking to for generations. From the cute Victorian village in Cape May to the hip boutique shopping center in the adequately named Point Pleasant, Dune spent last week with our Jersey community to show them all the ways they can wear their memories of the shore.

charmneckLauren was excited to meet a group of ladies in Cape May that annually take a “Girl’s Weekend” to Cape May. One of them had previously gifted all the girls, and herself, with a Sandbead® from Sunset Beach. They saw our most updated Interchangeable Bracelet and decided to wear their bead and vowed to add more from their different vacations.

Long Beach Island was a highlight of the trip, as Steve at Seawall ARTifacts has a loyal following of women who appreciate his eye for beach chic pieces. The trunk show opened their eyes to all 3,000 different beach sands as well as a piece Steve hasn’t carried before, the Port O’ Call Charm Holder. Linda, a long time L.B.I. resident purchased one for herself with two charms of the Island’s sand, and another from Flagler Beach, Florida. While she has no emotional connection to that beach, it was impossible for her to deny the beautiful orange shells that Flagler is known for.

Point Pleasant was a busy evening for Dune and Stella e Luna. The town held a “Ladies Night” where all the shops participated on amazing deals and wine to accompany the shoppers. Lauren along with the girls of Stella e Luna were able to share Dune’s story with so many new women, as well as several who already have a collection of Beach Sand pieces. Donna first found us all the way down in Port Orange, Florida at our retailer Hipnotique. Debbie, the store owner and a Jersey girl herself, carries a vast collection of Dune and Donna has a heart bangle from Florida, and is now the proud owner of a Natural Sandollar Necklace filled with sand from Point Pleasant.

It was a whirlwind week for our National Sand Artist, Lauren, and she wishes she had more time to enjoy the beaches of Jersey, but she’ll take all of your words for it! Hopefully when we return in August for some more Trunk Shows she’ll find time to stick her toes in the sand!
