“Whirlwind” is the best word to describe my January.  I arrived home from AmericasMart in Atlanta on Tuesday morning, tired and grateful at how successful the show was.  When Alexa and Lyla awoke I was met with screams of joy, a Welcome Home Mumma sign and a barrage of music videos – since I left (only 3 days prior) Alexa has learned how to use my iPad and quickly decided her favorites are play dough tutorials and Taylor Swift videos.  Lyla’s pronunciation is Taylor Swip which might be the cutest thing I’ve ever heard.  “Momma, Taylor Swip dances SO good – watch!”.

In Atlanta I was able to spend lots of time with our amazing sales team who also happen to be some of my best friends.  It was a great chance to reconnect and share stories about how awesome our customers are and how to better things here at Dune.  We also developed close to 40 new retail partners.  That means Dune Jewelry will be available in new stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, California and more.  I loved talking to new people and explaining the emotional significance that specific beaches or locations have to certain people and they appreciated knowing they can actually create a custom line of jewelry with their favorite sands.  It’s so important to me to let people know that they can actually wear their favorite and most cherished memories.

Moving forward – today I taped a segment of “Around Town” which will air in Massachusetts over the  next week or so (I’ll keep you posted), I’m directing a new photo shoot next Friday with new 2016 designs and then leaving for NY NOW on Saturday the 30th.  This is our first year at a New York based trade show so I’m a little nervous and extremely eager to get there and spread the Dune love!  I’ll leave late on the 31st to be home for Alexa’s fourth birthday on February 1st.  I just can’t believe she’s going to be four years old.  Realizing that these babies are growing up extremely fast I recently booked our first real family vacation to St. Thomas in April.  I can barely stop daydreaming about getting there and making memories with Eric, Alexa and Lyla and of course creating beautiful jewelry afterwards to remember the trip.

So that’s my January.  A great indicator that 2016 is going to be a year for the books!
